Delhi’s Drought Taskforce Launches Micro-Fog Cooling Gardens

The Delhi Urban Climate Resilience Taskforce has introduced micro-fog misting zones (“cool gardens”) in drought-prone neighborhoods of West and Southeast Delhi. Decked with solar-powered mist nozzles, shaded benches, and heat-resilient vegetation, each micro park brings down ambient temperature by 4–5 °C. Initial installations in Dwarka Phase 12 and Patparganj cut heat distress calls by 50% during a 42°C heatwave. The project will extend to 100 micro-cooling gardens by 2026, reinforcing urban climate adaptation efforts.
